Fiona Coulson: Nini Flowers

Fiona Coulson is founder and owner of Lamorna Flowers in Kenya. Along with her husband Billy, she also owns Nini, and both farms form part of the Nini Flowers group. It is always fascinating to hear directly from the farms and so we spoke to Fiona about how to grow and maintain quality roses.
I come from a small village in Limburg, in the south of Holland, where I grew up in a rural area close to my grandparents. My grandfather was a butcher who went from farm to farm to help with the meat production.
When it comes to Midsummer, Sweden is the place to be. No one does Midsummer like the Swedes. It is a national holiday, and on Midsummer Eve they leave the towns and head for the countryside or the coast to spend time with friends and family.

We spoke to UK retailer M&S about the characteristics of different varieties, and about the outstanding UK strawberry crop this year.
At this moment, the UK berry crop is looking excellent. After a great start in March, the stores are now onto the outdoor strawberry crop, which is huge due to the recent hot weather.
